Baseball Game Preview: Madison County Red Raiders vs. Eastside Eagles

For the second straight game, Madison County will face off against Eastside. The Red Raiders will be playing at home against the Eagles at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Madison County is coming into the match on a three-game losing streak.

On Tuesday, Madison County didn't have quite enough to beat Eastside and fell 6-5.

For Eastside's part, Braydon Smith was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing three bases while going 2-for-2. Smith is becoming a predictor of the Eagles' success: when he posts at least two stolen bases the team is 3-1 (and 3-15 when he doesn't). The team also got some help courtesy of Chase Jordan, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3.

Eastside hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their strikeout total in four consecutive contests.

Madison County's defeat dropped their record down to 3-19. As for Eastside, their win bumped their record up to 6-16.
