Soccer Recap: Alamogordo Comes Up Short

Alamogordo was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their 13th straight loss. They came up short against the Mayfield Trojans, falling 6-2. While losing is never fun, Alamogordo can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' New Mexico soccer rankings (they are ranked 61st, while Mayfield are ranked 16th).

Ryan Amberson and Diego Ochoa scored both of Alamogordo's goals, bringing their combined season tally to 11 goals.

Alamogordo's defeat dropped their record down to 3-15. As for Mayfield, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests. That lines up perfectly with their 13-4-1 record this season.

Alamogordo wasted no time getting back out on the pitch and has already played their next match, a 7-2 loss against Las Cruces on the 21st. As for Mayfield, they also didn't take long to hit the pitch again: they've already played their next matchup, a 2-1 win against Gadsden on the 21st.
