Basketball Recap: Wyalusing Valley Comes Up Short

Wyalusing Valley suffered their biggest defeat since December 28, 2024 on Thursday. They were beaten by the Troy Trojans 62-27. The Rams were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Trojans earlier this season, when they won 43-40.

It was another big night for Kailyn Sterling, who dropped a double-double on 21 points and 12 rebounds for Troy. Sterling has been hot for a while, having also posted two or more steals the last 11 times she's played. Madelyn Seeley was another key player, almost dropping a double-double on nine points and ten boards.

This is the second loss in a row for Wyalusing Valley and nudges their season record down to 11-8. As for Troy, they have been performing well recently as they've won nine of their last 11 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 13-4 record this season.

Wyalusing Valley will square off against Wellsboro at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Troy has already played their next match (against Mansfield), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
