            Softball Recap: Pueblo Centennial Bulldogs vs. Widefield Gladiators        
        
		
        
        
            Pueblo Centennial was the  5-3 winner over Widefield when they last played one another  back in August of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Bulldogs fell  8-4 to the Gladiators on Thursday.

 Ellie Zinanti spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered five earned  (and three unearned) runs on 11 hits and racked up 12 Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't  tossed less than ten  strikeouts in three consecutive appearances.
 At the plate,  Adrianna Lopez made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and  went 3-for-4 with three  stolen bases, one  run,  and one  double. She is  on a roll when it comes to  stolen bases, as she's  now  snagged  at least one in each of the last three games she's  played. Another player making a difference was  Remi Baca, who  went 1-for-2 with three  stolen bases and one  run.
Pueblo Centennial's defeat dropped their record down to 2-2. As for Widefield, the  win was  the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 3-0.
 Coming up, Pueblo Centennial is taking a road trip to  challenge La Junta  at 10:00  a.m.  on Saturday. The Bulldogs' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Tigers have averaged an impressive 9  runs per game this season. As for Widefield, they will face off against Pueblo Central at 10:00  a.m.  on Saturday.
