Basketball Game Preview: Port of Los Angeles Polar Bears vs. Harbor Teacher Monarchs

Port of Los Angeles is 0-10 against Harbor Teacher since February of 2017 but things could change on Monday. The Port of Los Angeles Polar Bears will welcome the Harbor Teacher Monarchs at 3:00 p.m.

It's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 58-12, which was the final score in Port of Los Angeles' tilt against Hawkins on Friday. While losing is never fun, the Polar Bears can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 1266th, while the Hawks are ranked 626th).

Meanwhile, Harbor Teacher put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They took their contest with ease, bagging an 81-17 win over Jordan. The Monarchs have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six matches by 33 points or more this season.

Harbor Teacher pushed their record up to 8-0 with the victory, which was their 11th straight on the road dating back to last season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 64.5 points per game. As for Port of Los Angeles, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-10.

Port of Los Angeles was dealt a bruising 83-13 loss at the hands of Harbor Teacher in their previous matchup back in January of 2024. That game was all but decided by halftime, at which point Port of Los Angeles was down 47-8.
