Basketball Game Preview: Bishop O'Dowd Dragons vs. California Grizzlies

The Bishop O'Dowd Dragons will take on the California Grizzlies in a tournament on Monday.

Bishop O'Dowd is probably headed into the game with a chip on their shoulder considering Archbishop Riordan just ended the team's three-game winning streak on Saturday. They fell just short of the Crusaders by a score of 43-40. While the Dragons didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Crusaders 13-9 in the first quarter.

Meanwhile, California waltzed into their match on Saturday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They enjoyed a cozy 59-45 win over the Panthers. Given the Grizzlies' advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 79th, while the Panthers are ranked 211th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

California is also on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a nice bump to their 11-6 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 62.2 points per game. As for Bishop O'Dowd, their loss dropped their record down to 9-6.
