Baseball Preview: Harrison Hoyas vs. McEachern Indians
The Harrison Hoyas will venture away from home to challenge the McEachern Indians at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.
Harrison fought the good fight in their extra-innings game against Hillgrove on Monday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They took a 7-4 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Hawks. The Hoyas have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask McEachern). They put the hurt on Pebblebrook with a sharp 23-5 win on Monday. The result was nothing new for the Indians, who have now won 11 matches by six runs or more so far this season.
Josiah Hatchett looked comfortable as he struck out six batters over 2.2 innings while giving up just two earned runs off three hits (and only one walk). What's more, he gave up only one walk, the fewest he's had since back in February.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Tyce Williams, who fired off two home runs, six RBI, and three runs while going 3-for-4. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in runs. The team also got some help courtesy of Malachi Butler, who scored four runs and stole Two bases. while going 2-for-4.
McEachern lost a few balls and finished the game with three home runs. That's the most home runs they've managed all season.
McEachern's record is now 16-2. As for Harrison, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-10.
