Football Recap: Knoch Takes a Loss

Knoch extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to seven on Friday, dropping them down to 0-5. They were beaten by the New Castle Hurricanes 45-0. While losing is never fun, the Knights can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania football rankings (they are ranked 444th, while the Hurricanes are ranked 57th).

As for New Castle, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 4-1. They might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won three matchups by 32 points or more this season.

New Castle found their leader in freshman Marino Graham, who rushed for 221 yards and one touchdown on only 11 carries, and also threw for 123 yards and three TDs. Those 221 rushing yards set a new season-high mark for Graham.

Knoch didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 21-14 defeat against Indiana on the 26th. As for New Castle, they have also already played their next game, an 18-12 victory against Aliquippa on the 26th.
