Basketball Recap: Greensburg Salem Golden Lions vs. Knoch Knights
The Greensburg Salem Golden Lions were the 43-39 winner over the Knoch Knights when they last played one another back in January, but their luck changed this time around. Greensburg Salem took a 43-33 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Knights on Thursday. Greensburg Salem has been going strong on the season, but this is now their second loss in a row.
Several Golden Lions players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Ashlan Price, who scored 11 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Sophie Bekerleg, who scored four points along with six rebounds.
Greensburg Salem has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 14-6 record this season. As for Knoch, their win was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-8.
Greensburg Salem will take on the Golden Rams at 12:00 p.m. on Monday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in Pennsylvania (Highlands is ranked 148th, while the Golden Lions are ranked 164th). As for Knoch, they will head out on the road to take on the Vikings at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Valley is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'.
