Basketball Recap: Soquel Takes a Loss

Soquel lost against Aptos back in January of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The matchup between the Soquel Knights and the Aptos Mariners didn't end well, with the Soquel Knights falling 47-32. That's two games in a row now that the Knights have lost by exactly 15 points.

Aptos' success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Berkeley Ashby led the charge by going 5 of 10 en route to 13 points along with six boards and four steals. Another player making a difference was Abby Sherwood, who went 5 for 10 on her way to 16 points and seven rebounds.

Soquel has traveled a rocky road recently having lost six of their last seven games, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-7 record this season. As for Aptos, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 10-7.

Soquel has already played their next contest (against Harbor), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Aptos will face off against Santa Cruz at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.
