Basketball Recap: St. Patrick-St. Vincent Comes Up Short

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact St. Patrick-St. Vincent can now relate to. They lost 71-51 to the Salesian College Preparatory Pride on Thursday. That's two games in a row now that the Bruins have lost by exactly 20 points.

Janiya Sawyer continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for Salesian College Preparatory, almost dropping a double-double with 18 points and nine boards. The dominant performance also gave Sawyer a new career-high in assists (eight). Emma Bryant was another key player, putting up 16 points.

St. Patrick-St. Vincent has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests, which has put a noticeable dent in their 11-14 record this season. As for Salesian College Preparatory, the victory (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 19-8.

St. Patrick-St. Vincent does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Salesian College Preparatory, they will face off against Pinole Valley at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday.
