Manhattan faced Washburn Rural in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. The Indians took their contest with ease, bagging a 43-0 victory over the Blues. The result was nothing new for the Indians, who have now won five games by 30 points or more so far this season.

Finn Watson went supernova, rushing for 136 yards and a pair of scores on only 15 carries, while also throwing for 146 yards and one TD on perfect 6-for-6 passing. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in passer rating (177.1).

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Manhattan was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 239 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 169 rushing yards in five consecutive matchups.

Manhattan's defense stepped up as well, laying out the QB three times. Caleb Manwarren refused to say out of the backfield, picking up 1.5 sacks all by himself. Another thorn in Washburn Rural's side was Manwarren, who picked up 1.5 sacks, forced one fumble, and made five total tackles.

Manhattan's record now sits at 6-2. As for Washburn Rural, their defeat was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 5-3.

Looking ahead, Manhattan will host Garden City at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Indians are facing the Buffaloes at the right time seeing as the Buffaloes are stuck on a five-game losing streak. Washburn Rural does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
