Basketball Game Preview: Diego Rivera Huskies vs. Jefferson Democrats

The Diego Rivera Huskies will face off against the Jefferson Democrats at 3:00 p.m. on Friday. Diego Rivera will be strutting in after a victory while Jefferson will be coming in after a loss.

On Wednesday, Diego Rivera strolled past Dr. Maya Angelou Community with points to spare, taking the game 42-27. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Huskies.

Brianna Collins continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, almost dropping a double-double on 22 points and nine rebounds. She is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed three or more in the last 38 games she's played dating back to last season. Another player making a difference was Desiree Aguillon, who posted 11 points in addition to five assists and five boards.

Diego Rivera smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 14 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in four consecutive contests.

Meanwhile, Jefferson was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat. They were dealt a 42-10 loss at the hands of West Adams. The match marked the Democrats' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Diego Rivera is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 10-6 record this season. As for Jefferson, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-7.
