Recap: Sayre Redskins vs. Troy Trojans
This season hasn't been kind to the Sayre Redskins, who are still winless after their fourth matchup. They were dealt a 60-19 loss at the hands of Troy on Tuesday. Sayre has not had much luck with Troy recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.
Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, Sayre struggled to work together and finished the game with only an assist. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as Troy racked up 16 assists.
Troy's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. That makes it three consecutive games in which Sterling has scored at least 25% of Troy's points. Another player making a difference was Giana Renzi, who scored ten points along with nine steals and five assists.
Sayre's loss dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Troy, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 3-0.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Sayre will take on North Penn-Mansfield at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully North Penn-Mansfield focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 32 on Saturday. As for Troy, they will look to defend their home court on Thursday against Wyalusing Valley at 7:30 p.m.
