Softball Recap: Maquoketa Valley Takes a Loss

Maquoketa Valley suffered their closest defeat since June 16th on Monday. They fell just short of the Lisbon Lions by a score of 5-3. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Lions this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 9-4 on Monday.

This is the second loss in a row for Maquoketa Valley and nudges their season record down to 21-10. As for Lisbon, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 19-12.

Coming up, Maquoketa Valley will head out to challenge Edgewood-Colesburg at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Wildcats 3.2, the Vikings 3.4) so any runs scored will be well earned. As for Lisbon, they have already played their next contest, an 11-0 win against Midland on the 1st.
