Soccer Recap: Saint Mary's Comes Up Short

Saint Mary was the 1-0 winner over Head-Royce when they last played one another back in December of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. The Saint Mary's Panthers fell 4-2 to the Head-Royce Jayhawks on Thursday. The loss was the Panthers' first of the season.

Mayari Negron-Gonzalez wasn't going to let Head-Royce walk away unscathed as she scored both of Saint Mary's goals, bringing her season total up to four goals.

Having lost for the first time this season, Saint Mary's fell to 3-1-1. As for Head-Royce, they pushed their record up to 5-0 with the victory, which was their third straight at home.

Saint Mary's will be home for the holidays to greet Pinole Valley at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Head-Royce, they will venture away from home to face off against Making Waves Academy at 3:00 p.m. on Friday.
