Soccer Recap: Elk Grove Find Success

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Franklin, Elk Grove was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. Their defense stepped up to hand the Liberty Ranch Hawks a 1-0 shutout. The score was all tied up 0-0 at the break, but the Thundering Herd were the better team in the second half.

Elk Grove's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-11-3. As for Liberty Ranch, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 11-6-1 record this season.

Elk Grove will face off against Pleasant Grove at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Elk Grove's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for three straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end. As for Liberty Ranch, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Rosemont at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Rosemont will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something Liberty Ranch surely won't give up without a fight.
