Football Recap: Esperanza Finds Home Field Redemption Against Westminster + How To Watch

There's no place like home for Esperanza, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Friday. They snuck past the Westminster Lions with a 27-21 victory on Friday. The win continues a trend for the Aztecs in their matchups with the Lions: they've now won three in a row.

Esperanza didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Eddie Matthews and Joseph Fields. Matthews got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

Despite the defeat, Westminster saw an underclassman step up: freshman Beckham Sharp threw for 298 yards and a pair of touchdowns, and also rushed for 32 yards.

Esperanza's victory bumped their record up to 4-5. As for Westminster, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-6 record this season.
