Baseball Recap: Millington Comes Up Short

It was a proper cat-fight when Millington took on All Saints Central on Wednesday. The Cardinals fell just short of the Cougars by a score of 3-2. The Cardinals have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Brandon Dickie spent all six innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered three earned runs on four hits and racked up eight Ks. He has been consistent: he hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in eight consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Millington saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Coleton Schisler, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base and one run.

Millington's defeat dropped their record down to 15-11. As for All Saints Central, the victory (which was their eighth in a row) raised their record to 16-7.

While Millington had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair will be back at it again later today.
