Softball Recap: Mill Creek Has No Trouble Against Collins Hill

Mill Creek was handed a heart-breaking two-run defeat in their last game, but they sure didn't let that happen against Collins Hill on Thursday. The Hawks put the hurt on the Eagles with a sharp 12-3 victory. Considering the Hawks have won three matches by more than seven runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Bethany Sottnick looked comfortable as she didn't allow a single earned run over four innings pitched.

On the hitting side, Ellie Kava was incredible, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, three runs, and one triple. The team also got some help courtesy of Ronnie Wade, who went 3-for-5 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.

Mill Creek kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That's the most hits they've posted since back in October of 2024.

Mill Creek's win bumped their record up to 6-3. As for Collins Hill, their loss dropped their record down to 5-8.

We've got plenty of inter-region action coming up soon. Mill Creek is set to square off against their familiar foe Central Gwinnett at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The timing is sure in the Hawks' favor as the squad sits on seven straight wins at home (dating back to last season) while the Black Knights have been banged up by six consecutive losses on the road. Meanwhile, Collins Hill will challenge rival Dacula at 6:15 p.m. on Wednesday.
