Softball Recap: Rampart Wins Going Away Against Doherty

Rampart won the last time they faced Doherty and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Rams put the hurt on the Spartans with a sharp 16-3 victory. Considering the Rams' hitters had been struggling lately, the high-scoring outing was a much-needed turnaround.

Addison Jensen was a major factor no matter where she played. She struck out nine batters over four innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off three hits (and not a single walk). Jensen was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with three runs, one stolen base, and one double.

In other batting news, Izzy Alvarado was a standout: she went a perfect 3-for-3 with four RBI and two runs. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in October of 2024. Victoria Kendall was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.

Rampart was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .480. They are 2-1 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

The win snapped Rampart's losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 3-7 record. As for Doherty, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-10.

Coincidentally, Rampart and Doherty will both be playing Fountain-Fort Carson the next time they take the field. The Spartans will host the Trojans at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday, while the Rams will head out to face them at 3:30 p.m. on Monday.
