Basketball Recap: Cathedral Catholic Snaps Three-Game Streak of Wins at Home

Cathedral Catholic has been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They took a 46-33 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Westview Wolverines on Monday. The Dons were down 41-19 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.

Mia Jacobson continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for Westview, dropping a double-double on 19 points and ten boards. Jacobson has become a key player for Westview: the team is 12-2 when she posts at least eight rebounds, but 4-5 otherwise. Sarah Heyn was another key player, putting up eight points and six assists.

Cathedral Catholic's loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 17-6. As for Westview, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight games, which provided a nice bump to their 16-7 record this season.

Cathedral Catholic wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 56-45 win against Mira Mesa on the 4th. As for Westview, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 70-33 victory against Del Norte on the 4th.
