Basketball Recap: Chavez Comes Up Short

Chavez was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their 11th straight defeat dating back to last season. They took a blow against the Kimball Jaguars, falling 59-25. The Titans were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 35-13.

Kimball got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Matalie Floyd out in front who almost dropped a double-double on nine points and 14 blocks. Floyd is also crushing it when it comes to steals: she's grabbed at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Emma Coronado, who posted 12 points in addition to six boards and five steals.

Chavez's loss dropped their record down to 0-9. As for Kimball, they pushed their record up to 5-0 with the victory, which was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Chavez will welcome Aspire Langston Hughes Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Kimball, they will venture away from home to face off against Mountain House at 7:30 p.m. on Monday.
