Baseball Recap: Addison Trail Triumphs

The home team had won the previous four meetings between Addison Trail and Hinsdale South, and Addison Trail kept the tradition alive. The Blazers sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 17-16 victory over the Hornets on Monday. The win was some much needed relief for the Blazers as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.

Addison Trail got a massive performance out of Louie Franczak, who went 4-for-6 with one home run, four runs, and four RBI. Franczak has become a key player for the Blazers: the team is 4-1 when he posts at least three hits, but 7-8 otherwise. Trevor Sosin was another key player, going a perfect 5-for-5 with four runs, two stolen bases, and one RBI.

They weren't the only ones working in the home run department: Addison Trail lost a few balls and finished the game with two home runs. That's the most home runs they've posted in their last eight matchups.

Addison Trail's victory bumped their record up to 11-9. As for Hinsdale South, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 8-15.
