Baseball Game Preview: Stone Mountain Pirates vs. Cedar Grove Saints

Stone Mountain is 0-7 against Cedar Grove since March of 2016 but things could change on Monday. The Stone Mountain Pirates will head out to square off against the Cedar Grove Saints at 7:00 p.m. Cedar Grove took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Stone Mountain, who comes in off a win.

Stone Mountain's pitching crew heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Wednesday. They were the clear victor by a 30-0 margin over Mt. Zion.

Meanwhile, Cedar Grove was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their seventh straight defeat dating back to last season. They came up short against Douglass, falling 19-7. One positive for the Saints, at least, is that this was the most points they've scored all season.

Stone Mountain's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-2. As for Cedar Grove, their loss dropped their record down to 0-5.

Stone Mountain suffered a grim 14-4 defeat to Cedar Grove in their previous meeting back in April of 2019. Can Stone Mountain avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
