Basketball Game Preview: St. Helena Saints vs. Middletown Mustangs

St. Helena is 0-10 against Middletown since January of 2018 but things could change on Friday. The St. Helena Saints will venture away from home to square off against the Middletown Mustangs at 6:00 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

St. Helena is headed into Friday's contest looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their third straight game on Wednesday. They were two points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 37-35 heartbreaker at the hands of Lower Lake.

Meanwhile, after a string of nine wins, Middletown's good fortune finally ran out on Wednesday. They fell to Fort Bragg 52-48. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Mustangs came into the matchup with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 299th, while the Timberwolves are ranked 637th).

St. Helena now has a losing record at 10-11. As for Middletown, their loss ended a five-game streak of away wins and brought them to 15-6.

St. Helena came up short against Middletown in their previous meeting back in January, falling 39-29. Can St. Helena avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
