Basketball Recap: Franklin Academy Comes Up Short at Home Against GRACE Christian

Franklin Academy unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They took a 52-45 hit to the loss column at the hands of the GRACE Christian Eagles on Wednesday. Sadly, the defeat continues a streak the team started last season, making it six in a row.

Several Patriots players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Rayne Bookhart, who dropped a double-double with 23 points and 12 boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Hannah Weidner, who posted 14 points and six rebounds.

Looking ahead, Franklin Academy will challenge Durham Flight HomeSchool at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for GRACE Christian, they will face off against Thales Academy Rolesville at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.
