Recap: Red Land Patriots vs. Northeastern Bobcats

The Red Land Patriots's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fifth straight loss dating back to last season. Their tough 55-30 defeat to Northeastern might stick with them for a while. While losing is never fun, Red Land can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 354th, while Northeastern is ranked 59th).

Northeastern got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Lauralye Kennedy out in front who scored 18 points. Those 18 points set a new season-high mark for her. Another player making a difference was Colleen Finnegan, who scored 12 points along with nine rebounds and four steals.

Red Land bumped their record down to 0-3 with that defeat, which was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 27.8 points per game. As for Northeastern, the victory for they keeps them at an undefeated 4-0.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Red Land will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off.
