Football Recap: Rockford Comes Up Short

Rockford fell victim to Pierz and their airtight defense on Friday. They were beaten by the Pioneers 34-0. While losing is never fun, the Rockets can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Minnesota football rankings (they are ranked 178th, while the Pioneers are ranked 34th).

Cody Miller threw for 109 yards on six of 13 attempts. Ethan Robran was his top target, picking up 103 receiving yards.

Rockford is on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-6. As for Pierz, the win keeps them at an undefeated 7-0.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Rockford will venture away from home to take on Holy Family Catholic at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Pierz, they will head out to challenge Milaca at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Pioneers will be up against the Wolves' rather soft defense (which has allowed 33.43 points per matchup), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
