Football Recap: Smithsburg Comes Up Short

After flying high against Poolesville last Friday, Smithsburg came back down to earth. The Leopards took a 14-7 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Clear Spring Blazers on Friday. The matchup was a 7-7 toss-up at halftime, but the Leopards couldn't quite close it out.

Smithsburg suffered their first home defeat, dropping their record down to 3-3. As for Clear Spring, they moved to 2-4 with that victory, which also ended their four-game losing streak.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Smithsburg will host Catoctin at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Clear Spring, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Tussey Mountain at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
