Basketball Game Preview: Bishop Amat Lancers vs. St. Paul Swordsmen

Bishop Amat is 0-8 against St. Paul since January of 2015 but things could change on Wednesday. The Bishop Amat Lancers will challenge the St. Paul Swordsmen at 3:30 p.m. St. Paul took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Bishop Amat, who comes in off a win.

Last Thursday, Bishop Amat got the win against Serra by a conclusive 51-29. The Lancers pushed the score to 43-16 by the end of the third, a deficit the Cavaliers cut but never quite recovered from.

Meanwhile, St. Paul was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their 24th straight loss dating back to last season. They had to suffer through a 62-14 loss at the hands of Saint Joseph. While losing is never fun, the Swordsmen can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 1157th, while the Jesters are ranked 95th).

St. Paul's defeat dropped their record down to 0-15. As for Bishop Amat, the win got them back to even at 12-12.

Bishop Amat couldn't quite finish off St. Paul in their previous meeting back in January of 2022 and fell 55-52. Can Bishop Amat avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
