Platte County had to skate by with only a one-set margin when they last took the court, which might have inspired the three-set drubbing they dealt Raytown on Tuesday. The Pirates were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Bluejays. The Pirates haven't had any issues with the Bluejays recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive victory against them.

Platte County's got stronger as the match went on, holding Raytown to fewer and fewer points set over set. The final score came out to 25-20, 25-16, 25-13.

Emma Macaluso paced Platte County's offense, picking up ten kills. Macaluso got some help from Ella Cruce and her 19 assists. Cruce was also solid from the service line: she led the team with four aces.

Platte County's win bumped their record up to 16-9-2. As for Raytown, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-10-2 record this season.
