Volleyball Recap: Fort Collins Lambkins vs. Windsor Wizards
Fort Collins was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They fell 3-1 to the Windsor Wizards. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Wizards this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-0 back in September.
Fort Collins started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. The final score came out to 22-25, 25-23, 25-14, 25-8.
Jacque Rojas paced Fort Collins' offense, picking up nine kills. Rojas got some help from Josephine Rubenstein and her 27 assists. Finally, Maya Lara kept Fort Collins' defense grounded, leading the team with six blocks.
Windsor's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Hallie Burroughs, who had 14 digs and three aces. Another player making a difference was Avery Smiley, who had 17 digs.
