Softball Recap: Meridian HomeSchool FLYERS vs. Sylva Bay Academy Saints

Meridian HomeSchool's game on Friday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Monday. They skirted past the Sylva Bay Academy Saints 7-6.

Ragen Tapley spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and four unearned) runs on seven hits and racked up 14 Ks.

At the plate, Jaedin Sharkey was incredible, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with seven stolen bases and two runs. The team also got some help courtesy of Kirklynn Roberts, who got on base in two of her four plate appearances with three stolen bases and one run.

The victory got Meridian HomeSchool back to even at 1-1.

Looking ahead, Meridian HomeSchool will take on Newton County Academy at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Sylva Bay Academy will be paying especially close attention to the FLYERS' game: after the FLYERS face off against the Generals, they'll take on Sylva Bay Academy again at 6:30 p.m. on Monday.
