Preview: Rancho Cotate Cougars vs. Miramonte Matadors
The Rancho Cotate Cougars will head out on the road to face off against the Miramonte Matadors at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Rancho Cotate will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps California Rankings (they are ranked 441st, while Miramonte is ranked 170th).
Last Saturday, Rancho Cotate came up short against Healdsburg and fell 46-34. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Rancho Cotate in their matchups with Healdsburg: they've now lost six in a row.
Meanwhile, after a string of six wins, Miramonte's good fortune finally ran out on Saturday. They took a serious blow against Acalanes, falling 77-41. Miramonte was down 63-34 at the end of the third quarter, and things only got worse from there.
Miramonte might have lost, but man, Karena Eberts was a machine: she scored 14 points along with seven rebounds and two steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Robin Parmelee, who scored five points.
Rancho Cotate's record is now 15-13. Miramonte's record now sits at 19-10.
