Softball Recap: Valley Park Hawks vs. Pacific Indians
There's no place like home for Valley Park, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Wednesday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 6-4 victory over the Pacific Indians on Thursday. The Hawks have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Indians, too.
Adison Durbin made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out eight batters over seven innings while giving up three earned (and one unearned) runs off 11 hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one double. That's the most hits she has posted since back in October of 2024.

In other batting news, Alivia Robison was incredible, going 3-for-4 with one home run and four RBI. Those three hits gave her a new career-high. Jenna Chitwood also deserves some recognition as she brought in her first RBI of the season.
With the win, Valley Park broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 8-9. As for Pacific, their defeat was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 3-11.
Coming up, Valley Park will square off against Maplewood-Richmond Heights at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Pacific, they will take on Rockwood Summit at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
