Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Eastlake). They breezed by the Chula Vista Spartans to the tune of 70-35 on Friday. The Titans haven't had any issues with the Spartans recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive win against them.

Eastlake found their leader in freshman Ari Ruperto, who went 8 of 14 en route to 18 points and eight boards. The dominant performance also gave Ruperto a new career-high in shooting accuracy (57%). Another player making a difference was Thea Joanne Manabat, who went 6 for 10 on her way to 16 points and four steals.

Chula Vista lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Nancy Chavez, who went 5 of 9 to rack up 10 points and seven rebounds. Sabrina Macias was another key player, as she made all 5 shots she took to post 10 points.

The victory was their first on the road , bumping their record up to 7-17. As for Chula Vista, they have been struggling recently as they've lost eight of their last ten matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-17 record this season.

Looking ahead, Eastlake will face off against Hilltop at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Chula Vista, they will host Otay Ranch at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Otay Ranch has six straight wins, Chula Vista has six straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the court.
