Softball Recap: Callaway Cavaliers vs. Bowdon Red Devils
Callaway lost against Bowdon back in August, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The Cavaliers fell just short of the Red Devils by a score of 4-3. The Cavaliers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Jasmin Chavez spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and two unearned) runs on five hits and racked up seven Ks.
On the hitting side, Aubree Spates was cooking despite her team's loss, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs and one triple. That triple marked the first that she has hit this season. Another player making a difference was Savannah Rice, who went 2-for-4 with one double and one RBI.
Callaway's loss dropped their record down to 2-8. As for Bowdon, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 6-6.
