Alabama high school football rankings: Four new teams each jump at least 10 spots

Thompson remains at No. 1 with a resounding win at No. 4 Hewitt-Trussville.

Four teams — Central (Phenix City), Gardendale, Gadsden City (Gadsden) and Eufaula — all made monumental leaps to join the Alabama MaxPreps 25 football rankings this week.

Each jumped up more than 10 spots, including 14 places to No. 20 by Eufaula (3-2), following a a 33-7 win over Park Crossing.

Gadsen City (3-2) jumped up 13 spots to No. 19 following a 31-17 triumph over previous No. 21 Spain Park, and Gardendale (3-2) whitewashed Jasper 42-0 to move up 10 slots to No. 18.

Central (3-2) was No. 26 last week but moved up to No. 15 with a 45-28 over previous No. 9 Enterprise.



The game of the week was a 35-21 triumph for top-ranked Thompson (Alabaster) at No. 4 Hewitt-Trussville (Trussville), which was broadcast live on ESPNU. Despite the loss, the Huskies (4-1) remained at No. 4.
