Baseball Game Recap: Augusta Prep Day Cavaliers vs. Georgia Christian Generals

Augusta Prep Day extended their losing streak to five on Thursday, dropping their season record down to 11-14 in the process. They might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 12-2 to the Georgia Christian Generals, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior. Unfortunately, that's the fourth time they've come up short against the Generals this season, with their most recent defeat being a 12-2 loss on Thursday.

As for Georgia Christian, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 20-5. The result was nothing new for the Generals, who have now won 17 contests by seven runs or more so far this season.

For Georgia Christian's part, Mac Bowling made a big impact no matter where he played. He didn't allow a single earned run while striking out 12 over six innings pitched. Those 12 strikeouts gave Bowling a new career-high. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. That triple marked the first that he has hit this season.

In other batting news, Georgia Christian got a big performance out of Anthony Alaniz, who went 2-for-4 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one run. That's the most RBI Alaniz has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Colton Hall, who went 1-for-2 with three runs, one double, and one RBI.

Augusta Prep Day does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Georgia Christian, they will square off against Trinity Christian on the 16th. The Crusaders' pitching crew has only allowed 3.9 runs per game this season, so the Generals' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
