Baseball Recap: Lakeside Vikings vs. Kennesaw Mountain Mustangs
After losing to Kennesaw Mountain the last time they met, Lakeside decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Vikings came out on top against the Mustangs by a score of 10-7 on Saturday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Vikings.
Jason Ludnai looked comfortable as he tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been consistent for a while: he hasn't given up more than two walks in ten consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Grant Jackson was excellent, going a perfect 4-for-4 with three stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. That's the most hits he has posted since back in March of 2025. The team also got some help courtesy of Micah Von, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI.
Lakeside always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .529. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Kennesaw Mountain only posted an OBP of .324.
Lakeside's record is now 19-8. As for Kennesaw Mountain, they moved to 16-12 with that loss, which also ended their six-game winning streak.
Looking ahead, Lakeside will challenge Decatur at 5:55 p.m. on Monday. As for Kennesaw Mountain, they will square off against East Paulding at 5:55 p.m. on Tuesday.
