Basketball Recap: Dynamic Duo of Isis Perez and Nyla Dixie Lead Chula Vista to Victory

There's no place like home for Chula Vista, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Tuesday. They blew past the Clairemont Chieftains 38-17 on Wednesday. The Spartans pushed the score to 36-9 by the end of the third, a deficit the Chieftains cut but never quite recovered from.

Chula Vista was led to victory by Nyla Dixie and Isis Perez. Dixie posted nine points in addition to seven boards and four steals, while Perez had nine points and three steals. Another player making a difference was Nancy Chavez, who put up seven points in addition to seven rebounds and four steals.

Chula Vista's victory bumped their record up to 6-11. As for Clairemont, their loss was their 14th straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 2-9.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Chula Vista will face off against Castle Park at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Clairemont, they will square off against Canyon Hills at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
