Football Recap: Omaha Christian Comes Up Short

Omaha Christian extended their losing streak to four on Friday, dropping them down to 2-4. They were dealt a 56-24 defeat at the hands of the Johnson County Central Thunderbirds. The Guardians were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 56-8.

As for Johnson County Central, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 5-1. The result was nothing new for the Thunderbirds, who have now won five matchups by 22 points or more so far this season.

Johnson County Central's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Regan Campbell Thies led the charge by throwing for 178 yards and a pair of touchdowns while completing 87.5% of his passes. A.J. Rautenbach was in the mix too, providing the Thunderbirds with two TDs.

Looking ahead, Omaha Christian will be playing at home against Johnson-Brock at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Johnson County Central, they will face off against Lourdes Central Catholic at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Thunderbirds will need to watch out since the Knights have now posted at least 31 points in their last three games.
