Basketball Recap: Casa Grande Takes a Loss

Casa Grande's tournament run continued when they took on Sanger West on Monday. The Casa Grande Gauchos took a 39-34 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Sanger West Hornets.

Among those leading the charge was Jasmin Lopez, who posted eight points. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in points. Another player making a difference was Jazmin Sanchez, who put up five points.

Casa Grande's defeat dropped their record down to 1-11. As for Sanger West, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a massive bump to their 6-9 record this season.

Casa Grande will venture away from home to square off against American Canyon at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday. American Canyon will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something Casa Grande surely won't give up without a fight. As for Sanger West, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 53-40 win against Fresno Christian on the 3rd.
