After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Silex, Winfield was happy to have turned things around on Saturday. They skirted past the Lutheran Cougars 6-5. This was payback for the Warriors, who suffered a 2-0 loss the last time these two teams met.
Anderson Hudson was excellent, going 2-for-3 with two RBI and one double. Another player making a difference was Daniel Warren, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.
Winfield's win bumped their record up to 7-12. As for Lutheran, they have been struggling recently as they've lost 16 of their last 18 contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-21 record this season.
