Norris posted their closest victory since September 25th on Friday. They had just enough and edged out the Crete Cardinals 4-2. That's the fifth time they've managed to beat them this season, with their most recent win being a 6-3 victory on Friday.

Embrie Bednar spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on four hits and racked up seven Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Norris saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Myra Carlow, who went 2-for-3 with one run and one double. Another was Leah Ozenbaugh, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one run and one RBI.

Norris was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .385. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Crete only posted a batting average of .259.

Norris is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 22-10 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.2 runs on average over those games. As for Crete, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 26-8.

Norris didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, an 8-0 loss against Blair on the 15th. Crete does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
