Basketball Recap: Tri-Valley Bulldogs vs. Greenwood Wildcats
After flying high against Nativity BVM last Thursday, Tri-Valley came back down to earth. The Tri-Valley Bulldogs had to suffer through a 53-25 loss at the hands of the Greenwood Wildcats. While losing is never fun, the Bulldogs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 611th, while the Wildcats are ranked 182nd).
Tri-Valley's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Faith Artz, who posted 11 points and six boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Avery Miller, who put up eight points and nine rebounds.
Danica Zurenko was nothing short of spectacular for Greenwood: she went 5 for 8 on her way to 14 points along with eight boards and four steals. Another player making a difference was Sylvia Gantt, who had 15 points.
