Softball Recap: Excelsior Springs Wins Going Away Against Chrisman

Excelsior Springs never let their opponents score on Monday. They blew past the Chrisman Bears 13-0. The Tigers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five games by ten runs or more this season.

Keira Romazon was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out nine over five innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts she has posted since back in October of 2024. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one triple, two RBI, and one double. That triple marked the first that she has hit this season.

In other batting news, Josie Casler was a standout: she went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, four RBI, and one double. Another player making a difference was Willa Schreier, who went 2-for-4 with three runs, one triple, and two RBI.

Excelsior Springs kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. They are a perfect 6-0 when they post 11 or more hits.

Excelsior Springs is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-3 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.5 runs over those games. As for Chrisman, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-7.

As of now, neither Excelsior Springs nor the Bears have any future games scheduled.
