Softball Game Preview: Davenport Bulldogs vs. Union City Tigers

The Davenport Bulldogs will square off against the Union City Tigers at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.

Davenport's pitching crew heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Wednesday. They blew past Olive 12-0. Considering the Bulldogs have won 11 contests by more than seven runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Union City). They were the clear victors by an 11-0 margin over Strother on Thursday. The Tigers not only won on Thursday, but they posted their biggest win since September 26, 2024 (when they won 17-1).

Davenport has been performing well recently as they've won 16 of their last 20 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 21-7 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.7 runs on average over those games. As for Union City, their win bumped their record up to 2-3.
