Baseball Game Preview: Cascade Cadets vs. Northview Knights

The Cascade Cadets will take on the Northview Knights at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Cascade is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.1 runs per game this season.

Cascade is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Thursday. They blew past Edgewood 9-1. Winning may never get old, but the Cadets sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.

Cort Hubner looked comfortable as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit over four innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two hits in six consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Toby Savini was excellent, getting on base in three of his five plate appearances with one run, one double, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Braxton Lewis, who got on base in three of his five plate appearances with two runs.

Cascade kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least nine hits in three consecutive matchups.

Northview played against Indianapolis Washington on Thursday and won via forfeit.

Cascade's record now sits at 14-8. As for Northview, their record is now 15-8.

Cascade beat Northview 5-1 in their previous meeting back in May of 2025. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Cadets since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
